Conversion-Warehouse Associate

Warehouse Associate – Summary Receives, stores, and distributes material and products within establishments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department. Marks materials with identifying information. Opens bales, crates, and other containers. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers. Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications. Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Competencies Quantity – Meets productivity standards; completes work promptly and seeks to increase productivity. Safety and Security – Observes safety procedures, determines appropriate action beyond guidelines, reports unsafe conditions, uses equipment properly. Attendance/Punctuality – Consistently present and on time; ensures coverage when absent. Dependability – Follows instructions, responds to management, keeps commitments, works long hours when necessary. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience/training; or equivalent combination. Language Skills: Ability to read, comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence; effectively present information to customers, clients, and employees. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide with whole numbers, fractions, decimals; compute ratios, rates, percent; interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations. Other Skills and Abilities: Bilingual in Spanish helpful but not required. Physical Demands Regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle items; reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. Occasional climbing or balancing; lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment. Work Environment Frequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places. Noise level usually loud.
