About the Role

The Company is seeking a General Counsel to be its first legal hire and establish a comprehensive legal function. This hands-on, builder role involves laying the legal groundwork for the company's operations, including customer contract negotiations, commercial agreements, corporate legal matters, employment and IP issues, and privacy, security, and compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for all legal aspects, from standardizing contract templates to creating a legal tech stack and will also be a key advisor to the leadership team. As the company continues to grow, the General Counsel will play a pivotal role in supporting international expansion and potential M&A activities. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should be prepared to take on a wide range of legal responsibilities and to build the legal function from the ground up. This includes developing and implementing legal processes, managing outside counsel, and providing strategic legal advice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial and corporate law, with experience in negotiating and drafting a variety of legal agreements. A proactive approach to legal issues, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams are essential.
