CNC Tooling & Setup Specialist (Tight‑Tolerance)

Do you thrive on getting the first piece right and dialing in a stable process?
Can you interpret complex blueprints and hold demanding tolerances on mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines?
Are you the go-to problem solver for offsets, tool wear, and mysterious chatter?

What You’ll Handle

End-to-end CNC setups: fixtures installed, programs loaded/verified, and tooling set.
Offsets, tool changes, and process tweaks to sustain part quality.
Blueprint, work-instruction, and inspection criteria interpretation.
First-article and in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
Troubleshooting setup, tooling, and machining issues to minimize downtime.
Guidance and support for machine operators during production runs.
Monitoring tool life, machine health, and process repeatability.
Accurate setup documentation and production records.
Adherence to shop safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.

What You’ve Done

CNC setup in a precision manufacturing environment.
Set up CNC mills, lathes, or both (multi-axis experience a plus).
Read/interpret blueprints and engineering drawings with confidence.
Apply knowledge of tight tolerances, tooling selection, offsets, feeds, and speeds.
Use precision metrology tools effectively.
Work independently and within a team at a fast pace.
Tool and Die background preferred.

Bonus Points

Tool and Die or similar tooling experience in manufacturing.
Comfort with GD&T and formal inspection workflows.
Fixture setup expertise, process improvement, and complex troubleshooting.
A track record of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
