The Senior Accountant will be essential for accounting operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of financial data through such things as general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet preparation. They will also be responsible for supporting and optimizing accounting systems and processes to streamline workflows and enhance data accuracy. The successful candidate will be a significant contributor to the corporate accounting team in executing their functions to support informed decision-making and contribute to the organization's financial health and growth.ResponsibilitiesExecute daily accounting operations including general ledger and bank reconciliationsPerform monthly entries and reconciliations for company balance sheet accounts to include items such as fixed assets and leasesSupport preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principlesSupport the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems to improve efficiency and data integrityCoordinate month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure timely financial reportingCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisEnsure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements by supporting regular audits and process reviewsContinually assess internal controls and provide suggestions for identified improvementsOther duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and full cycle accounting processes.Proficiency in accounting systems and software, including Microsoft Excel.Significant experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, balance sheet preparation, fixed asset accounting, and month end processes.Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.Preferred QualificationsExperience with accounting in the healthcare industry as well as accounting for multi-site facilitiesProficiency in ERP systems such as Great PlainsCPA or CPA eligibleStrong analytical skills with experience in supporting variance analysis and financial forecasting / budgetingExcellent communication skills with a track record of demonstrated contributions to the accounting teamAt Bradford Health Services, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients while fostering a supportive and rewarding workplace for our employees.
