Responsibilities

Draw blood samples from patients using appropriate phlebotomy techniques, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens in the presence of the patient.

Prepare specimens for lab testing while adhering to established procedures and safety protocols.

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and patient information.

Provide excellent customer service by creating a welcoming and trusting environment for patients and healthcare staff.

Follow all safety policies, procedures, and organizational guidelines to ensure a safe and professional environment.

Perform duties independently or under supervision, with flexibility to work at multiple locations as needed.

Assist with specimen processing and handling to support timely lab results.

Required Skills

Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors.

Data entry proficiency for managing specimen tracking and documentation.

Attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality in handling patient information.

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred, especially in California, Nevada, and Washington.

1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment highly preferred.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

Valid driver license with reliable transportation if traveling between locations.

Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
