Business Development Manager, Industrial Electric Motors (Chicagoland) $90K to $110K base | $150K to $180K+ Year 1 OTE | Uncapped commission Our client is a global manufacturer of AC industrial electric motors with US operations and inventory in the greater Chicago area. They deliver both stock product and custom engineered solutions, and they win business by understanding the application, not by quoting from a catalog. This is a pure hunter role. You will build a book of new OEM business from scratch: cold prospecting, opening accounts, owning the full sales cycle from first call to close. No distribution management. No inherited accounts. The territory is regional with the freedom to pursue opportunities beyond it. What you\'ll do Generate new OEM accounts through cold outreach and field prospecting Sell application-based, engineered motor solutions to technical buyers Own the full cycle: prospect, qualify, quote, negotiate, close Partner with engineering to spec solutions for pumps, fans, blowers, material handling, and other motion applications What you\'ll bring A proven new business development track record with real examples of cold prospecting and closing OEM accounts Industrial sales background: electric motors strongly preferred; power transmission or related technical products considered Enough technical fluency to read a nameplate, talk specs, and recommend solutions alongside an engineer High energy, self-motivation, and stable tenure history Comfort being paid on performance: uncapped commission plus new account bonuses Why this role Top earners at this company have exceeded $250K.
