Job Description Details
- Design and develop traffic control systems, including signals, signage, and roadway layouts.
- Develop transportation plans and design transportation systems that improve safety and mobility.
- Conduct traffic studies and analyze data to assess current conditions and forecast future needs.
- Utilize AutoCAD and other design software to create detailed engineering plans.
- Assist in the development of system designs that improve traffic flow and safety.
- Engage in transportation planning initiatives to support sustainable development.
- Working with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
- Oversee and lead projects; including project planning, design and implementation, and closeout.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- PE license.
- 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering.
- Familiarity with transportation planning concepts and methodologies.
- Project management experience.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SYNCHRO, VISSIM, or SIDRA.
- Ability to collaborate with other engineers, city planners, and the public to develop transportation solutions.
- Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail.
