Residential & Light Commercial Service Electrician
Mr. Electric of Charleston, SC. Summerville / Charleston metro. Full time, on site.

$67,000 to $79,000 guaranteed base salary, plus commission on completed work. Base is paid weekly and commission stacks on top. Self motivated techs on our plan earn $100,000+.

As an Electrician, you are a key member of the team and coordinate the installation, repair, and service of electrical systems in homes and small businesses. You run your own fully stocked van, work directly with the customer, diagnose the problem, price the repair from our rate card, and do the work right the first time. Panel changes, service upgrades, troubleshooting, standby generators, EV chargers, lighting, and renovation wiring, with some light commercial service and industrial troubleshooting in the mix for techs who enjoy that side of the trade.

This position is right for you if you are devoted to your craft, focused, responsible, self motivated, and have a knack for troubleshooting. Specific responsibilities

• Understand code requirements and explain them to a customer in plain English
• Install, maintain, and repair existing equipment
• Determine the condition of electrical equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and determine needed repairs
• Identify materials and quantities needed for new and repair projects
• Evaluate customer requests, write clear work order descriptions, and price projects
• Follow established processes and procedures
• Operate with safety as the primary concern for yourself and the customer

Job requirements

• 3+ years of hands on residential electrical experience, including troubleshooting and repair work in occupied homes. Construction only, industrial only, or low voltage only backgrounds usually aren't a fit for this role.
• You know the work. A journeyman or master license is welcome but not required.
• Positive attitude, professional appearance, and a team player who can work independently.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record, since you'll be driving our truck.
• Physically able to lift heavy objects as necessary.
• Comfortable with tablet based dispatch, invoicing, and job photos.
• Reliable, communicative, and someone who takes pride in finishing the job well.
