Law Enforcement Officer

Company Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Denver branch. Position Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officer (FRLEO). Overview The FRLEO will provide basic police duties, maintain a safe environment, and implement law enforcement best practices and physical security system technologies such as access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and screening. Previous law enforcement experience is not required. Key Activities Protect and safeguard personnel, property, assets, and operations. Remain alert for potential security, property, or safety concerns and initiate appropriate actions. Respond to disturbances, unusual, emergency, or other rapidly evolving events, including potentially life‑threatening situations. Use an appropriate degree of physical force and/or weaponry as directed by the situation and make critical decisions at the scene prior to the arrival of senior officers. Prepare detailed incident reports. Control access to the Bank and high‑security areas, including inspecting individuals, their property, and/or vehicles. Perform interior and exterior security patrols and checks. Operate and monitor Bank Law Enforcement and life safety systems and equipment, including CCTV, integrated access control, ALARM systems, x‑ray machine, metal detectors, biometric readers, radio system, fire system, public address system, and fire extinguishers. May perform rotational roles such as Canine Handler, Instructor, Field Training Officer, etc. Perform other duties as assigned. Screening Requirements Successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation, psychological examination, agility, physical, and drug screening. Legal authority to carry a firearm. Completion of ongoing training and supplemental screenings including Basic Law Enforcement Training Course (BLEC), New Officer Field Training Program (FTO), in‑service law‑enforcement training, weapons qualifications, annual drug screening, background reinvestigations, and maintaining Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officer certification requirements. Qualifications High school education or GED required. Minimum age 21 years. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills. Strong written communication: ability to write clear, concise, grammatically correct documents. Working knowledge of PCs, e‑mail, and other Microsoft Office applications. Physical fitness and agility as required by the role. Location Fully onsite – Denver, CO. Remote eligible – No. Shift and Work Hours Requires availability to work 1st, 2nd & 3rd shifts. The position is subject to shift changes/rotations based on departmental needs, requires overtime work (including unscheduled overtime due to staffing shortages or operational necessity), and includes holidays and weekends. Pay Range $51,000–$77,000, final offers determined by qualifications and other factors.
