Harry Cohen & Associates is currently seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal/Intake Specialist to join our medical malpractice law firm located in downtown Pittsburgh. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting attorneys in complex litigation cases, managing case files, requesting/reviewing/organizing medical records, communicating with clients and healthcare providers and filing pleadings, etc. The position requires excellent organizational and communication skills along with strong multi-tasking skills to complete job tasks efficiently.

** RESPONSIBILITIES **

• ** Screen potential new cases/intakes. **
• ** Assist attorneys in all phases of medical malpractice litigation. **
• ** Request, review and organize medical records. **
• ** Draft legal documents, correspondence, pleadings and discovery responses. **
• ** Maintain case files and manage deadlines. **
• ** Coordinate with clients, medical experts, healthcare providers and court personnel. **
• ** Schedule depositions, meetings, etc. **
• ** Prepare trial exhibits and assist with trial preparation as needed. **

** PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS **

• ** 5-years Paralegal experience preferred. **
• ** Experience with e-filing/filing in state and federal courts. **
• ** Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare records/documents. **
• ** Knowledge of court procedures and legal terminology. **
• ** Experience requesting and organizing medical records. **
• ** Strong written and verbal communication skills. **
• ** Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software. **
