We are seeking an experienced Trust And Estate Paralegal to join our corporate law firm's trusts and estates team. The role supports attorneys in administering estates, preparing trust documents, managing probate matters, and handling corporate-related estate planning tasks. The ideal candidate combines strong paralegal fundamentals with specialized knowledge of trusts and estates practice within a corporate law firm environment, and the ability to coordinate with clients, fiduciaries, and tax advisors to achieve timely, accurate outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparation, review and execution of estate planning documents including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
• Prepare and file probate and trust administration documents, petitions, and court forms; manage deadlines and court calendar requirements.
• Coordinate trust and estate administration tasks: asset identification and collection, beneficiary communications, creditor notices, accountings, and distribution processes.
• Support corporate-law related matters such as entity transfers, fiduciary appointments, and coordination with corporate counsel on ownership structures and succession planning.
• Draft correspondence, summaries, and client-facing memoranda explaining estate and trust processes, status updates, and next steps.
• Conduct legal research on trust and estate law, probate procedures, and applicable corporate law issues; summarize research for attorneys.
• Review financial and tax information; liaise with accountants and tax advisors to gather information required for estate tax filings and planning (coordinate but do not replace tax counsel).
• Maintain and organize case files, documents, and electronic records to ensure compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage client relationships with professionalism and confidentiality; schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and follow up on action items.
• Assist in training junior paralegals and support staff on trusts and estates procedures and firm protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of paralegal experience with a focus on trusts and estates in a corporate law firm or similar environment.
• Demonstrable knowledge of trust and estate law, probate administration, and fiduciary duties.
• Experience preparing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, probate petitions, accountings, and related court filings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft legal documents and client communications clearly and professionally.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines concurrently.
• Proficiency with document management systems, e-filing platforms, and common office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, corporate teams, financial advisors, and tax professionals while maintaining client confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Nice to have: experience with estate and gift tax issues or direct experience coordinating with tax advisors and preparing materials for estate tax filings.
