We are seeking an ** experienced ** Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our Attorneys with case preparation and management, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible representation.
Location: Downtown Pittsburgh(in office position), you ay work from home 1 Day a week after successfully completing a 6-month probationary period. Salary, plus annual bonus and raise.
We offer our employees 15 Days (PTO) & 5 Days(Sick);6 WFH days per year in addition to 1 Day per week after a 6 month probation; 401(K) with 3% matching after 6 months probation period; UPMC Health Insurance; short term, long term disability & life insurance; optional Dental, Eye and AFLAC.
Responsibilities:
-Assist Attorneys in managing personal injury cases from intake to resolution
-Scan, organize and maintain case files in a client case management software to ensure files are up to date
-Review and summarize medical records
-Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies and opposing counsel
-Confirm, negotiate and pay health insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid Liens
-Draft and send professional correspondence
-Draft and file legal documents including pleadings, motions and discovery
-Schedule depositions, oral arguments on motions, and other case related filings
-Support in mediation and trial preparation ,including exhibit organization and witness preparation
-Respond promptly to telephone calls
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 5 years of experience as a personal injury paralegal
-Associate or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or related field(or equivalent experience)
-Must possess the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage a workload with minimal supervision
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Deadline and detail-oriented
-Highly organized
-Expertise in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
-Proficiency in using case management software
-Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment a must
