Duties

Help

• You will Perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.
• You will review and evaluate budget requests; control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
• You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations.
• You will provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities.
• You will be implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.

• This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing financial findings and making recommendations to improve the accuracy and efficiency of accounting operations while ensuring correct implementation.

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Monitoring financial data, accounting procedures and controls to preclude violation of regulations AND providing financial and accounting advise/training to accounting technicians, budget personnel, and management.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-11:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

OR

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree

OR

LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
