RN, Nurse Lead - ICU, Full-Time, Day Shift

Overview Centered in the heart of Montebello, Adventist Health White Memorial Montebello is a 70-year history of providing quality healthcare. The facility includes a 192-bed hospital, wound care medical office and surgical & laboratory services. Job Summary Provides unit-based leadership working collaboratively with the Nurse Manager, Director, Physicians and staff. Supervises and directs the activities of nursing and ancillary personnel using professional and supervisory discretion to ensure high patient safety, cost-effective care and patient satisfaction. Essential Functions Leads the development and delivery of clinical services, supervising and directing unit personnel. Initiates and coordinates conferences with health team members, patients and families to revise care plans. Directs and monitors personnel in patient care activities to maintain quality and compliance with standards, including Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals. Fosters an environment of patient and family-centered care with emphasis on cultural diversity. Conducts rounds, solicits feedback, and implements interventions to improve patient experience. Develops strategies with Nurse Manager/Director to improve customer satisfaction for patients, families and physicians. Investigates and resolves patient care and operational issues, recommending policy changes as needed. Manages staffing requirements, assigns personnel based on acuity, and ensures efficient use of skills. Coaches, disciplines, and participates in hiring or termination decisions for unit personnel. Maintains department and equipment safety, reporting incidents and coordinating repairs. Prepares documentation for unit activities and special needs within budgetary constraints. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience required; Master’s Degree preferred. Experience: Five years of technical nursing experience preferred; supervisory experience required. Licenses/Certifications: RN licensure in the state of practice required; CPR/BLS required; basic life safety certifications preferred. Special Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale required.
