Senior Business Analyst

Job Summary:

The Senior Business Analyst provides expert business analysis services to clients with diverse business and technological needs. This role involves gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements, leading workshops, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop cost-effective IT solutions. The Senior Business Analyst applies industry best practices, methodologies, and standards to drive business improvements and ensure alignment with organizational strategies. Responsibilities:

• Lead and conduct business analysis to assess client business problems and opportunities, documenting technical and functional requirements.
• Facilitate workshops using techniques such as JAD sessions, interviews, and mockups to gather and validate business requirements.
• Develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, feasibility studies, and performance measures for IT initiatives.
• Create business models, use case models, process and data flow diagrams, and stakeholder maps to support solution design.
• Apply re-engineering concepts to promote business improvements and cost-effective service delivery.
• Support Agile development by breaking down complex requirements into manageable deliverables, including user stories.
• Oversee production support, configuration management, and change management activities.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure business requirements align with OPS project management methodologies and standards.
• Lead evaluation of vendor proposals focusing on client requirements for IT business and infrastructure solutions.
• Manage risks, conduct quality assurance including user acceptance testing, and ensure smooth transitions through training and communication strategies.
• Prepare clear and concise documentation, presentations, and reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Proven experience leading business analysis on medium to large projects, including developing context diagrams, use cases, and system diagrams.
• Strong expertise in requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and business process modeling.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience supporting iterative development cycles.
• Proficiency with business analysis and project management tools such as DevOps, MS Visio, and modeling tools.
• Experience with custom development in cloud-native systems and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage change processes, including impact analysis and training development.
• Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with information retrieval packages and Information Management principles.
• Knowledge of business analysis techniques such as business functional modeling, event modeling, and process mapping.
• Understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related standards.
• Experience with user interface design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
• Skills in budget estimation, ROI assessments, and cost-benefit analysis to support business cases.
• Familiarity with user-centered design principles to improve usability and user adoption.
• Experience managing portfolio, program/project management, and resource management related to business analysis.

Special Considerations:

• Must be available for 5 days onsite as required.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple competing priorities.
• Maintain high levels of customer service when interacting with internal and external clients.

• Standard work schedule with possible adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
• May require flexibility to support Agile sprint cycles and stakeholder meetings.
