DIRECT HIRE

Location: Brockton, MA
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: $22–$30 per hour , based on experience

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Sheet Metal Fabricator, you’ll fabricate, form, assemble, and inspect metal components while working from blueprints, CAD drawings, work orders, and specifications.

Responsibilities include:

• Fabricating sheet metal parts and assemblies using shop equipment, hand tools, and power tools
• Setting up and operating fabrication equipment such as:
  • Press brakes
  • Shears
  • Punches
  • Rollers
  • Saws
  • Metal-forming equipment
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, CAD drawings, work orders, and technical specifications
• Measuring, cutting, bending, punching, and forming steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other metals
• Performing mechanical assembly using fasteners, rivets, hardware, and fittings
• Performing welding, spot welding, or tack welding when required, based on experience and certification
• Deburring, grinding, and finishing fabricated parts to meet quality and cosmetic requirements
• Inspecting completed parts and assemblies for:
  • Dimensional accuracy
  • Tolerances
  • Fit and finish
  • Overall workmanship
• Identifying and correcting fabrication problems or dimensional discrepancies
• Maintaining machines, tools, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
• Following established safety, quality, and production procedures
• Working with supervisors, engineering, and quality teams to meet production requirements

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Strong measuring and layout skills
• Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances
• Experience safely operating fabrication equipment, hand tools, and power tools
• Understanding of basic metal properties and fabrication processes
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

• Trade school or apprenticeship training in sheet metal, machining, welding, or fabrication
• MIG, TIG, spot, or resistance welding
• CNC punch press operation
• CNC or manual press brake operation
• Custom fabrication or low- to mid-volume production
• Lean manufacturing
• Quality systems or formal inspection processes

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Stand for extended periods
• Bend, reach, lift, carry, and position metal components
• Perform repetitive hands-on fabrication work
• Safely work around industrial machinery, sharp metal edges, oils, noise, and vibration
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
