Provides direct services by using standardized procedures to provide expressive play sessions to targeted students in elementary schools to establish positive relationships and aid in student adjustment and success. Bilingual preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children and families; experience in a school setting preferred. Physical & Safety Requirements Regular interaction with children in classroom and play settings; moderate activity required. Expected to have sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful physical, mental and emotional situations on the job without compromising health and wellbeing of self or others. Duties may be performed in a school or administrative environment ranging from highly stressful and potentially aggressive to casual and leisurely, both indoor and outdoor settings. The employee may be subject to outside weather conditions and may be required to visit homes with substandard living conditions and domestic pets.
