Nursing: Registered Nurse (Rn) - Progressive Care Unit (Pcu) - Travel

Overview Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 12‑week travel assignment in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The role involves caring for patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units, requiring frequent monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. Responsibilities Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care. Prepare equipment and aid physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations. Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients. Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors or physicians of cardiac status and response to interventions. Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies. Document nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients. Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients. Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN. Current valid RN license in compliance with South Carolina state regulations. Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Physical & Technical Abilities Must be able to remain stationary, move about, and move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures or department equipment. Mental & Sensory Requirements Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must work under close supervision occasionally and also independently when required. Must possess visual acuity and effective communication skills.
