Corporate Counsel/Senior Corporate Counsel, Transactions

Beam Therapeutics seeks an experienced attorney to serve as Corporate Counsel for commercial contracting as the company transitions to commercialization. The role involves drafting and negotiating complex agreements with treatment centers, partners, and manufacturers, while providing legal support for pre-commercial activities and lifecycle management. Candidates should have 5+ years of biotechnology contracting experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-stakes agreements in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts with gene therapy treatment centers, channel partners, and manufacturers
• Provide legal review of pre-commercial activities including advisory boards, patient engagement, and market research
• Support promotional material review committees with legal guidance
• Manage ongoing contracting lifecycle including agreement interpretation and risk analysis across teams
• Collaborate on updating contracting playbooks and standards with business stakeholders

Requirements

• JD from accredited law school; admission to practice in U.S. jurisdiction
• 5+ years experience with complex biotechnology contracting, preferably commercial-stage cell and gene therapy
• Ability to manage multiple high-stakes agreements simultaneously on tight timelines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with sound judgment
• Experience advising medical affairs and commercial teams on product launch legal requirements
• Knowledge of healthcare laws including anti-kickback and false claims statutes
• On-site presence 2 days per week required
