JOB NOTICE
The Assumption Parish Police Jury is now seeking applications for the position of ACCOUNTANT within the Administrative Office in Napoleonville. The position to be filled is for full-time employment. The ACCOUNTANT will be responsible for the preparation of Federal Programs payroll and Section 8 payables, the preparation of quarterly reports and other reports required in the operation of the financial management system(s) of the Parish. The position requires sufficient skills to compile and record data in the journals and ledgers of various federal, state and parish programs. Experience in Excel is a must as the position requires working with multiple spreadsheets on a daily basis. Responsibilities Daily collections for the Police Jury, along with posting of all accounts receivables. One‑on‑one interaction with program monitors and auditors. Availability during natural disasters to assist the OHSEP Director in civil defense and hazardous matter activities. Position Qualifications College degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, or five (5) years of work experience in governmental or general accounting. Salary Contingent upon education and/or experience. Range set between $43,000 - $50,000. Full benefits available after 60‑day probationary period. How to Apply Resumes should be submitted to Kim M.
