Messing Roofing & Construction is seeking an ambitious Project Manager to help lead the construction of a large multifamily development in Crystal Lake, Illinois. This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside an experienced Site Superintendent while managing the installation of complete exterior building envelope systems. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on construction professional who wants to grow into a Superintendent role and take ownership of increasingly complex projects. Project Scope The Project Manager will help oversee installation and coordination of: Asphalt shingle roofing systems Tapered low‑sloped roofing systems Weather‑resistant barriers (WRB) Fiber cement siding CertainTeed stone veneer systems Exterior doors Windows Building envelope detailing and quality control Responsibilities Assist the Site Superintendent in daily field operations Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and deliveries Monitor production schedules and project milestones Conduct daily site walks and quality inspections Enforce jobsite safety requirements and company standards Identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule Track manpower, productivity, and progress reporting Verify installations meet manufacturer specifications and project requirements Coordinate inspections and punch list activities Maintain organized project documentation and field reports Build strong working relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and inspectors Qualifications 3–10 years of construction field experience Experience with multifamily, commercial, or large residential construction Understanding of building envelope systems preferred Ability to read plans, specifications, and shop drawings Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency with construction technology and project documentation OSHA 30 preferred (or willingness to obtain) Self‑motivated, dependable, and eager to grow professionally What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Performance bonus opportunities Vehicle allowance or company vehicle Company phone and technology package Career advancement path to Superintendent Stable pipeline of multifamily and commercial projects Team‑oriented culture with strong leadership support If you're ready to take the next step in your construction career and help deliver high‑quality building envelope projects, we'd like to hear from you.
