Work Environment

This position is based onsite within our home care facility, where you will work predominantly in patients' homes across the Alexandria area. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and administer physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and maximizing muscle function in accordance with individualized care plans.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants to ensure adherence to treatment protocols and effective patient care delivery.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' functional abilities through diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional tests.
• Assess patients' home environments to recommend necessary modifications that promote rehabilitation and independence.
• Deliver physical therapy services in clients' homes as prescribed by physicians, ensuring compliance with treatment objectives.
• Implement and instruct clients on manual and non-manual therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Administer specialized treatments, including traction, massage, and other physical agents.
• Evaluate, fit, and make adjustments for prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with physicians on necessary modifications.
• Contribute to the development, review, and updating of client care plans, ensuring they reflect current health status and needs.
• Document and report on patients' progress and responses to therapy, suggesting adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
• Prepare and maintain clinical records, detailing evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Engage as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, actively participating in case conferences to evaluate comprehensive patient care strategies.
• Provide education and guidance to clients and families regarding physical therapy regimens and the use of therapeutic devices.
• Complete all documentation and administrative tasks promptly, following branch procedures for clinical and payroll submissions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The physical therapist will primarily work with clients requiring rehabilitative services due to post-operative recovery, chronic pain, mobility impairments, and other physical limitations. Qualifications

• Completion of a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Current licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia, with a good standing record.
• Current CPR certification.

• Excellent communication skills, with a track record of engaging effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
