Travel Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Job Description Prime Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Neuro ICU for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Neuro ICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/15/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Job: Registered Nurse – ICU Location: Charlotte, NCDuration: 13 WeeksShift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)Start Date: 06/22/2026 Responsibilities: Provide critical care nursing to patients in a Neuro ICU within a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Monitor and manage patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, traumatic brain injuries, seizures, spinal cord injuries, and post-neurosurgical conditions. Manage advanced neurocritical care equipment including EVDs, lumbar drains, Camino ICP monitoring, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun systems. Care for ventilated patients and administer continuous IV sedation, blood products, and critical medications. Perform neurological assessments and monitor ICP, hemodynamic stability, and cardiac rhythms. Provide post-operative care for craniotomies, aneurysm clipping/coiling, carotid endarterectomies, and carotid stent procedures. Maintain central line care, IV therapy, arterial line management, and infection prevention protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Float to other appropriate units as needed based on staffing requirements. Document patient care accurately using EPIC charting system. Required Skills & Qualifications: Active RN License required. Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience required. Strong Neuro Critical Care background mandatory; general ICU experience alone will not be accepted. Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted. Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Experience with ventilators, EVDs, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and acute stroke management required. Proficiency in EPIC charting system required. Ability to manage patient ratios of 2:1, with flexibility up to 3:1 during high census. Must be comfortable working every other weekend and floating as needed.
