Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist Northrop Grumman Defense Systems invites qualified professionals to join its team as a Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist supporting the Sentinel (GBSD) program in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division. Location & Details Location: Roy, Utah Relocation assistance may be available Travel: Yes, 10% of the time Clearance required at start: No; Clearance type: Secret Job Responsibilities Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts. Participate with contracts administration and purchasing to develop subcontract policies and procedures. Source and procure specialized goods and services. Own contractual management for the supplier. Manage source selection from contract proposal to execution phases. Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program and end‑users. Develop subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services. Prepare bid packages, conduct bidders conferences, analyze and evaluate proposals, negotiate subcontract provisions, select or recommend subcontractors, write awards, and administer resulting subcontracts. Evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability in conjunction with the quality organization, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules. Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations. Manage performance of subcontracts, ensuring compliance with all public law requirements as well as company policies and procedures including import/export regulations. Employ sound business practices and assess supplier performance as part of follow‑up activities. Ensure that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded. Manage and develop strategic/key suppliers. Review and approve supplier payment as needed. Utilize process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality and efficiency and continuous improvement. Basic Qualifications U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security clearance. Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience; or 3 years with a master’s degree; or 9 years of related experience may be accepted with a high school diploma (or equivalent) in lieu of a degree. Experience with FAR provisions and GSC policies and procedures. Experience with cradle‑to‑grave subcontract administration. Experience preparing subcontractor Request for Proposal (RFP) packages and supporting the NGC acquisition process. Experience preparing and presenting briefings to leadership (internal/external). Preferred Qualifications Active DoD Secret level security clearance (investigation within the past 6 years). Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to provide accurate supplier invoice and accrual forecasting. Ability and willingness to contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Proven leadership ability in high‑tempo, multi‑task environments within aerospace/defense. Experience working in regulated industries, specifically aerospace and defense acquisition. Proficiency with SAP (or equivalent enterprise resource planning) for contract and procurement management. Self‑starter with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, driving continuous‑improvement initiatives. Demonstrated skill and ability to perform professional tasks. Strong organizational skills. Problem‑solving aptitude to develop solutions and drive resolution to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Salary offers consider scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions. Work Schedule This role follows a 9/80 schedule, allowing employees who work a nine‑hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
