The Deputy Clerk III performs a variety of secretarial, administrative, and technical duties for the department of assignment. Examples of duties include answering telephones and greeting visitors; utilizing computerized data entry equipment and various word processing and file maintenance programs to enter, store, and retrieve information; maintaining pertinent files and records; processing incoming and outgoing mail; preparing periodic activity statistical summary and financial reports; assisting and providing information to judges, attorneys, title companies, and the general public regarding inquiries and questions; certifying and issuing copies of legal documents; supervising support staff for the department; training employees as necessary; processing all cash and surety bonds; creating spreadsheets to ensure money is received; receiving the actual cash from the bonds and processing appropriately; issuing all writs and abstracts; entering all court orders; evaluating orders and choosing next appropriate; responding to orders in a timely manner; receiving payments and issuing receipts; logging payments in appropriate files and placing money in cash drawers; determining which account to post money to; issuing refunds and determining appropriate account settlement; recalculating fee schedules for courts; preparing cash drawers from the safe daily; recalling all warrants based upon satisfaction of terms; and performing other related duties as required. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a minimum two years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Completion of some college level course work is preferred. Specific certifications related to the area of assignment may be required for this position.
