Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance is the largest, independently owned orthopedic specialty practice in the Kansas City metro area. We have over 50 medical providers practicing out of eight locations. Each team focuses on the importance of customer service, communication, and caring for patients.

We're forming a new team and are looking to fill several experienced Insurance Verification Specialist positions. This role is critical to the practice's revenue cycle, helping to minimize claim denials and reduce billing delays. These positions are full-time, 40 hours per week; Mondays-Fridays from 8am-4:30pm.

Our Insurance Verification Specialists are responsible for confirming patients' insurance eligibility and benefits in advance of scheduled appointments and procedures, ensuring accurate financial information is available to support a smooth patient check-in and billing process.

Essential Functions:

• Verifying active insurance coverage and benefits and accurately documenting patient chart.
• Resolving eligibility verification issues returned on the Eligibility report
• Determining copay, deductible, and/or coinsurance amount to be collected from the patient at check-in.
• Obtaining, uploading and scanning required payer referrals and authorizations as necessary
• Confirming and documenting the practice and providers' in-network participation status with each patient's insurance carrier and plan.

Experience:

• Insurance verification: 1 year (Preferred)
• Medical billing: 1 year (Preferred)
• Knowledge of procedure authorization preferred
• Basic computer skills
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
