About This Role

Seeking experienced childcare professionals to join our team Monday through Friday from 6 am to 6 pm. Ideal candidates will be passionate about working with young children and creating a nurturing environment. A minimum of one year of experience in a preschool or childcare facility is required.

The successful candidate will support Teachers and the Director in developing a caring and safe environment, as well as assisting in activities that promote quality education. This role requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to build positive relationships with children and their parents. The candidate will be responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities and observing and documenting children's progress.

Job Type: Part Time/Full Time

Pay: $13.00 and up depending on experience/resume

Schedule: Monday through Friday any time between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

Experience: Childcare facility 1 year

Work Location: Newport News, VA

What You'll Do

• Support the development of a quality educational program by assisting in the implementation of curricula and encouraging participation from children.
• Engage in daily activities and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
• Maintain open communication with parents through regular discussions and progress reports.
• Model self-help and good hygiene behaviors for children.
• Ensure a smooth daily transition from home to the child care center.
• Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
• Continuously develop professional skills to improve quality of care.

Requirements

• Ability to work well with others
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
• Ability to work with children between 6 weeks to 12 years old
• Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in a preschool or childcare facility setting
• Will work with children between 6 weeks to 12 years old
• Flexible Schedule
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Passionate about working with children
• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• An understanding of child development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Positive and patient demeanor
• Ability to build rapport with children
• Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience
