Field Communications Specialist

Summary:Panhandle Oilfield Services is seeking a Field Communications Specialist to support oil and gas operations by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting communication systems critical to field performance and safety. This position helps ensure reliable communications across remote locations through cellular, RF, satellite, wireless, and network technologies. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of field operations and customer service.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot communication systems and related equipmentSupport field networking and SCADA communication systemsMonitor and optimize communication coverage for production, logistics, and field operationsCoordinate with operations personnel and customers to ensure reliable communications and minimize downtimeMaintain documentation for communication equipment, infrastructure, and site informationEnsure compliance with applicable regulations and company standardsTrain field personnel on the proper use of communication equipmentRespond to communication outages and support emergency situations as neededMaintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe conditionParticipate in training and safety meetings as requiredPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Associate's degree, technical training, or equivalent field experience preferredThree to five years of experience with communication systems, networking, or related technologies preferredExperience with cellular, RF, satellite, wireless networks, routers, and SCADA communications preferredPrevious oilfield, industrial, utility, or telecommunications experience preferredStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and in remote field environmentsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsValid driver's license and acceptable driving record requiredPreferred Experience:Knowledge of oil and gas operations and field communication requirementsExperience with digital radio systems, industrial networking, and wireless communicationsFamiliarity with FCC regulations and licensing requirementsVendor certifications in communications, RF, or networking equipment are a plusWork Environment:Combination of field, shop, office, and customer locationsExposure to outdoor weather conditions, heavy equipment, and active job sitesFrequent travel to field locations may be requiredOvertime, weekends, and after-hours support may be required based on operational needsPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsAbility to work safely around energized equipment and active job sitesAbility to wear required PPE and comply with all safety requirementsMust be able to pass a company drug screen and background checkThis job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the position.
