Fund Accounting Associate Nextera Search

A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join their team as a Fund Accounting Associate.
Responsibilities:
- Support recurring fund accounting and financial reporting activities across a range of investment vehicles.
- Review accounting records, portfolio activity, expenses, and fund-level allocations.
- Coordinate with external service providers to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Assist with investor activity, including contributions, distributions, and related reporting.
- Prepare periodic valuations, performance calculations, and financial statements.
- Support annual audits, tax deliverables, internal reporting, and special projects.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and improve accounting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of relevant accounting experience within financial services.
- Experience with investment funds or alternative asset managers preferred.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
- CPA or progress toward certification preferred.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
