Job Description and Duties

OFFICE TECHNICIAN (TYPING) (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) – BAY AREA DISTRICT / DISTRICT OFFICE

The reporting location for this position is the Bay Area District Office, 845 Casa Grande Road, Petaluma, CA 94954. This position will work under the general direction of the  Senior Park and Recreation Specialist.

The Office Technician (Typing) Permanent Intermittent (PI) position will assist with filing and records management, document preparation, ordering and maintaining supplies, mailing and document handling, and composition of correspondence for the Service Driven Program. The employee will manage calendars, track documentation, create  correspondence , and provide excellent customer service. 

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position requires o ccasional  travel between park units and off-site locations.  Occasional t ravel between park units and off-site locations is required to meet program delivery and operational needs.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.

Working Conditions

Office work, daily and frequent use of personal computer and variety of office software applications at a workstation. Sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.  Employee will occasionally travel to assist with setting up in-person meetings or community/partner events.  

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. • The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
