Geologist 1

Job Description CDM Smith is seeking an entry‑level geologist to join the Environmental Services Team in Latham. Under direct supervision, the candidate will perform geologic and seismic evaluations, fault‑rupture hazard and slope stability investigations, hydrogeologic analysis (aquifer testing, geochemical, geotechnical, and contaminant transport), well logging, water sampling, surface mapping, soils characterization, data compilation, and QA/QC. The role includes preparing cross‑sections, iso‑concentration maps, draft evaluations and calculations for regulatory compliance, contributing to technical documents, publishing papers, attending conferences, and collaborating with sales staff. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related discipline. No prior experience required; equivalent experience may substitute for a degree. Domestic and/or international travel up to 50% may be required. Valid driver’s license. Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of CADD 3D and 4D software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Strong communication skills. Basic understanding of scientific methods and processes.
