Ocean Export Coordinator

Location: Johns Creek, GAEmployment Type: Contract to HireSalary: $26-30/hrWe are seeking an experienced Ocean Export Coordinator to manage the end-to-end export shipment process for ocean freight. This role is responsible for coordinating bookings, export documentation, shipment tracking, and communication with ocean carriers and drayage providers while working closely with internal teams to keep shipments on schedule.This is a great opportunity for a logistics professional with strong ocean export, freight forwarding, and intermodal experience who is comfortable managing multiple shipments and responding to changing schedules and operational needs.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the complete ocean export process, including booking, documentation, tracking, and tracing.Book U.S. export shipments with ocean carriers through EDI and email.Enter and maintain accurate booking and shipment information in the ERP system.Monitor shipment updates and make necessary changes to booking details and schedules.Coordinate with ocean carriers and drayage providers to resolve container and chassis issues.Prepare and review export documentation, including SED/ITN, shipping instructions, commercial invoices, packing lists, Ocean Bills of Lading, bank drafts, and letters of credit.Work closely with Customer Service, Logistics, Shipping, and Production teams to communicate load schedule changes and keep shipments moving efficiently.Ensure export shipments and documentation are handled accurately and in accordance with customer and operational requirements.Qualifications2+ years of ocean export experience with a freight forwarder or large manufacturer preferred.Strong knowledge of ocean export and intermodal operations.Freight forwarding experience preferred.Working knowledge of INCOTERMS and responsibility for freight payment.Familiarity with ocean carrier lines and ACE/INTTRA.Experience with export documentation and international shipping processes.SAP experience preferred.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple shipments, changing schedules, and time-sensitive documentation.Willingness to travel approximately 10% to other office or plant locations as needed.Qualified applicants will be contacted.
