Job Description: Parsons is looking for a talented Bridge Engineer to join our team full-time to support one of the many large transformative transportation projects that we have either won, are currently pursuing, or will pursue across the nation. Some of the larger projects are located in the states of: Tennessee Georgia North Carolina Virginia Indiana In this role, you will help deliver the design for projects that have a construction value greater than $1 billion, and in turn assist in enhancing the mobility, safety, and reliability for communities who live along and travel through these critical corridors. This position is hybrid, and the selected candidate must be centrally located to one of our Parsons offices to support regular in office collaboration. Most recently, we have been the engineer of record or have assisted on some of the most challenging projects in the country, including: the Gordie Howe Bridge near Detroit, MI the Clear Path projects in Indianapolis, IN Brent Spence project in Cincinnati, OH the SR 400 project in Atlanta, GA These high-visibility Design-Build and Public Private Partnership "P3" projects and many others are career defining opportunities and offer complex, challenging work for our entire professional staff and new hires, who work seamlessly together from offices across the country. What You'll Be Doing: Assist Senior level engineers in the development of detailed calculations/analysis and construction drawings, including but not limited to the following: Complete fundamental structural calculations for concrete and steel bridge components and retaining walls, including drilled shaft, pile and spread footing foundations Assist in modeling bridge structures using structural design/analysis programs like MDX, LEAP Bridge Concrete (CONSPAN & RC-PIER), OpenBridge Designer, LARSA, LPILE & GROUP Load Rating Calculations using AASHTOWare Develop detailed engineering drawings using Microstation, including rebar calculations and layout Quantity Calculations Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines including Geotechnical, roadway, environmental, and drainage teams. Provide support for other engineering activities as required. What Required Skills You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering (or related field) 3+ years of related work experience Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate required Proficiency in utilizing CAD (Microstation Open Roads Designer a plus) and other PC software packages (e.g. MDX, RC-PIER, LARSA) typically associated with engineering is required Security Clearance Requirement: None This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
