L&I Data Analyst

Salary: $71,136 - 95,676 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree that includes college-level coursework in statistics and/or mathematics.
• We require three years of experience in a Data Consultant 3 role or an equivalent position; graduate study in a related field may substitute for up to two years of experience.
• We also consider equivalent combinations of education and experience.
• We expect equity competencies, including a demonstrated commitment to learning and growth and a proactive approach to meeting the needs of others.
• Preferred experience includes three years in our Employer Services program as an Industrial Insurance Underwriter or three years in our Claims Administration program as a Workers Compensation Adjudicator.
• Preferred background also includes one year using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• We value intermediate skills in Hyperion Reporting Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services, SAS, SharePoint, Excel, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of Kimball Data Warehouse design is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are highly desired.

• We gather, clarify, and refine data and reporting needs from customers, translating business needs into practical analytic solutions.
• We design output models and confirm that the necessary data is available and valid before building the final product.
• We write code and extract, analyze, manipulate, and format data from our data warehouse and other sources using tools such as Hyperion Studio, SAS, SSMS, SSRS, SQL, and JavaScript.
• We evaluate results for accuracy and usability, then adjust data handling or coding logic as needed.
• We develop and distribute complex statistical reports and visual deliverables such as multi-page Excel files, charts, graphs, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and web-based interactive reports.
• We advise project teams so accurate, understandable data is presented in a format that supports decision-making.
