Job Description
Bayport Laboratories is seeking a proactive, creative, and detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator to serve as the direct creative and operational support to the Director of Social Media & Marketing. Operating on-site from our 55,000 sq. ft. cGMP cosmetics development and manufacturing campus in Houston, TX, you will play a central role in translating complex cosmetic science into compelling visual and written content.

This role is heavily focused on hands-on content creation, B2B copywriting, trend monitoring, and graphic design. You will assist with studio and lab production shoots, write technical and engaging copy for multiple channels, design digital and print collateral, and keep our brand ahead of viral beauty trends and industry shifts.

Key Responsibilities
1. Content Production & Shoot Assistance

• Serve as on-set production assistant for weekly in-house photo and video shoots across our Houston R&D laboratory, compounding suites, and production floor.
• Assist the Director of Social Media with camera prep, basic studio lighting, grip setup, prop styling, and shot list tracking.
• Capture high-quality behind-the-scenes (BTS) video, raw B-roll, and mobile-first footage for rapid deployment across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and LinkedIn.
• Organize and catalog raw media assets, maintaining a structured digital asset library with standardized naming conventions and tags.

2. Copywriting & Corporate Communications

• Write polished, engaging copy for long-form technical blogs, case studies, and website articles highlighting Bayport’s formulation capabilities and manufacturing technology.
• Draft and edit bi-weekly B2B email newsletters tailored for indie beauty founders, brand executives, and procurement teams.
• Develop executive thought-leadership articles and commentary for LinkedIn to position company leadership at the forefront of cosmetic innovation.
• Write clear, professional corporate press releases, facility milestone updates, and trade exhibition announcements.

3. Social Media Management & Executive Support

• Work directly with the Director of Social Media to plan, schedule, and maintain the monthly multi-platform editorial calendar.
• Schedule and publish daily content across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts using social scheduling tools.
• Actively engage with prospective clients, industry partners, and community followers in comments and direct messages, escalating qualified sales leads to business development.
• Assist with departmental administration, tracking social analytics, and preparing monthly performance recaps.

4. Trend Forecasting & Market Intelligence

• Daily monitoring of TikTok, Instagram, and Reddit to identify viral beauty products, emerging textures, applicator trends, and trending audio.
• Track competitor contract manufacturers, private-label launches, and beauty conglomerate news to identify market gaps.
• Monitor cosmetic chemistry and regulatory discussions, tracking high-interest ingredients (e.g., peptides, ectoin, lamellar emulsions) to suggest timely content hooks.
• Synthesize weekly trend briefs with actionable content concepts for the creative team.

5. Graphic Design & Collateral Production

• Design clean, modern static social media graphics, carousels, and quote cards adhering strictly to Bayport brand guidelines.
• Design and update print and digital sales collateral, including one-sheeters, technical data sheets, formulation sample flight menus, and capability decks.
• Produce corporate presentation decks, booth signage, event flyers, and email header graphics using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, copywriting, or marketing coordination (beauty, personal care, CPG, or manufacturing industry experience is a major plus).
• Technical Skills:
  • Design & Visual: Proficient in Canva; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Video & Photo: Familiarity with mobile videography, basic DSLR/mirrorless operation, and short-form video editors (CapCut, Premiere Pro).
