Imaging Services Supervisor - Ultrasound

The Ultrasound Supervisor supervises licensed technologists providing diagnostic and patient care services. Monitors staff utilization and productivity, reviews test results to ensure appropriate application of equipment and imaging systems. Oversees operations of ultrasound services, ensuring adherence to productivity and quality standards, as well as internal policy and external regulations. Adjusts protocols as needed to achieve high quality results. Participates in quality improvement initiatives. Recommends improvements to departmental procedures and policies to provide patients with the highest quality services. Trains diagnostic medical sonographers on new techniques, systems, operations and regulations. Mentors staff in meeting professional goals and developing growth areas. Consults with radiology leaders on developing strategies for performance improvement. Assists management in coordinating staff development, training, and competency assessment.

Communicates regularly across services to assure quality diagnostic services, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams related to improvements in patient care or operations. Participates in recruiting and conducts new employee orientation. Evaluates performance and competency and defines development goals. Recommends changes in staffing and budget to ensure the efficient operation of the ultrasound department. Serves as a role model for assigned staff.

Minimum Qualifications: Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training; OR a Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related area plus five (5+) or more years of relevant experience/training. Licensed sonographer, ARDMS or ARRT. Experience with subject matter knowledge of sonography, with ability to apply principles to an acute care setting to ensure operations meet regulatory standards.

Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year supervisory experience Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in AB, OB/GYN, RVT.
