Registered Nurse - Med/Surg

Job Summary Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Medical–Surgical team on a Full-time basis. The registered nurse position is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in assigned units. The RN maintains accountability for their own practice and delegates/provides direction to other nursing personnel in the unit in accordance with their level of experience and expertise. Essential Functions Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, and evaluation Effectively enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices Maintains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practices Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice Integrates research findings into clinical practice Requirements Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Registered Nursing Registered as a licensed Registered Nurse in good standing in the State of Wisconsin Current BLS certification at hire; ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certificate within 90 days of hire Non-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence training every two years on a rolling calendar One year relevant nursing experience or supervisory recommendation Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Will demonstrate current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification within 6 months of hire Computer Competency Basic computer skills are expected. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including creating, editing, and formatting documents. Work Shift Full-time, .75 full-time equivalent, 24–36 hours per week. Variable shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) every third weekend or holiday.
