Lead Software Engineer, Authentication Platforms

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with 5+ years of applied experience
• Experience designing solutions with engineering customers, understanding their problems and helping develop fixes
• Proficiency reading and writing code or scripts to reproduce issues and review customer integrations across programming languages
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to document clearly and review others work constructively
• Broad systems integration experience across systems, protocols, and languages, with the ability to reason across the path from client to resource
• Rigorous root-cause diagnostic skills, using evidence such as logs, traces, and tokens
• Experience supporting incidents and releases, with sound escalation judgment and the ability to stay steady under pressure
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, including setting expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption
• Preferred: Experience with modern token- and assertion-based authentication and federation protocols
• Preferred: Broader identity and access management knowledge, including authentication models, certificate and key registration and rotation, onboarding, and least privilege
• Preferred: Familiarity with directory services and enterprise access platforms
• Preferred: Experience with federated identity across firm and public-cloud providers
• Preferred: Familiarity with observability tools and PKI fundamentals, including X.509, mTLS, and signing-key mismatches
• Preferred: In-region experience supporting high-risk locations

• Provide in-region, front-line technical support across the Auth & Auth portfolio to strengthen the resilience of critical authentication functions
• Work directly with engineering customers to design and validate integrations, including flow selection, federation setup, onboarding, and secure credential handling
• Own complex incidents spanning multiple systems and drive them through resolution; support related maintenance and release work
• Read and write code regularly, including issue reproductions and diagnostic tools, and review customers integration code
• Write and review runbooks and root-cause analyses
• Provide regional escalation coverage and help other engineers develop their expertise
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, taking unconventional approaches when needed
• Promote adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation standards and encourage reuse of effective approaches
• Use software development lifecycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation
• Identify opportunities to prevent or automate remediation of recurring issues and improve the operational stability of applications and systems
• Support firmwide identity solutions, workforce sign-on and access platforms, and public-cloud identity providers, including Entra and Google Cloud
• Diagnose complex authentication and integration problems through evidence-based analysis, implement durable fixes, and provide clear guidance to engineering customers
• Improve diagnostic practices and documentation, and share best practices across the Auth & Auth TSE team
