This role focuses on testing, assembling, and building electronic components and sub-assemblies in a climate-controlled production environment. You will work with hand and power tools to assemble, wire, and align electronic parts according to detailed drawings and specifications, ensuring high-quality and reliable products.
Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies accurately according to work instructions and specifications.
• Route and install wiring, cables, and harnesses to exact specifications, ensuring clean and organized layouts.
• Use hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, drills, and crimpers to perform assembly and wiring tasks safely and efficiently.
• Crimp wires by hand or using machines to create secure and reliable electrical connections.
• Build circuit boards and install components with precise positioning and alignment to facilitate proper wiring and assembly.
• Interpret drawings and related technical documents to understand assembly requirements and wiring configurations.
• Work on an assembly line or bench assembly station to meet production goals and quality standards.
• Inspect completed assemblies to verify proper installation, alignment, and functionality.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress, issues, and improvements.
• Identify and solve basic problems in the assembly process, including wiring, component fit, and tool usage.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with assembly of electronic components and sub-assemblies.
• Proficiency using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and crimpers.
• Ability to use power tools such as drills safely and effectively in a production environment.
• Practical knowledge of wiring, cable routing, and cable harness assembly.
• Ability to interpret and follow drawings and related technical documents.
• Basic understanding of electronics and circuit board assembly.
• Experience working on an assembly line or in a production setting.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and follow instructions.
• Problem-solving skills to address assembly and wiring issues as they arise.

• Experience with bench assembly work in a climate-controlled environment.
• Familiarity with cable harness production and routing techniques.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards in repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work within structured production schedules and meet deadlines.

Work Environment
Work takes place in a climate-controlled facility focused on bench assembly and production of electronic components. The schedule runs from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays that are worked, following a 9/80-style schedule with limited time off currently aside from every other week. Additional availability is expected from October through December, including some possible Saturday morning shifts. You will work at an assembly bench and on an assembly line using hand tools and power tools, with a focus on precision, safety, and consistent production output.

This is a Contract position based out of Ashburn, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
