Senior Specialist II, Claims Technician – Primary Casualty We are hiring a Senior Claims Specialist for our North America Claim Team. This role involves managing primary claims for AXIS U.S. Primary Casualty policies. Responsibilities Evaluating complex claims to determine appropriate settlement strategies and ensure adherence to company policies. Ensuring timely evaluation, reserving and disposition of assigned claims. Mentoring junior claims adjusters, providing guidance and support for professional development. Utilizing knowledge of legal frameworks and claims handling practices, including Construction and New York Labor Law. Documenting coverage, investigation, damages, reserve rationale, negotiations, etc. Reviewing contracts for risk transfer evaluations, coverage analysis and tender review. Investigating potentially fraudulent claims and taking appropriate action. Identifying opportunities for contribution, subrogation and contribution to the claim. Qualifications Expertise in evaluating and resolving complex claims within various jurisdictions. Ability to mentor and develop junior adjusters. Experience handling New York Labor Law, Product Liability and complex litigation claims. Experience drafting coverage correspondence, writing coverage letters and responding to/issuing tenders. Skilled in negotiating settlements with stakeholders to achieve equitable solutions. Ability to recommend and justify the use of outside counsel in complex claims situations. Networking and relationship building within professional and market associations. Track record of adhering to and enforcing company policies and procedures in claims processing. Role Factors This position requires office presence 3 days per week and adherence to AXIS licensing requirements. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $105,000 - $160,000 based on experience and location. Competitive target incentive compensation.
