About the Role:

The Staff Chemist will play a crucial role in prepping samples for analyses. The Staff Chemist will need to be able to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure samples are prepped in a timely fashion for analysis. Additionally, this role involves a great deal of communication and documentation of their work.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Ability to work in a team oriented fast paced environment
• Communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Strong Organization Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
• Knowledge of analytical techniques such as Sample Preparation, GC, and spectroscopy.
• Must be able to multitask and think critically
• 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting.

Responsibilities:

• Sample preparation using EPA approved preparation techniques
• Sample receipt and Login using a Laboratory Information Management System
• Maintain clean and safe workspace
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safety compliance
• Perform gravimetric analysis
• Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis
• Properly record results for further analysis and easy reference
• Develop and optimize analytical methods for product testing and quality assurance.

Skills:

The required skills in analytical techniques are essential for preparing samples for testing. Proficiency in laboratory equipment allows the Staff Chemist to efficiently perform tests and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Strong documentation skills are necessary for maintaining compliance with industry regulations and for clear communication with the team. Collaboration skills are vital as the Staff Chemist will work closely with various teams to complete analyses in a timely fashion. Additionally, the staff chemist must also be a self starter as their are times you will be working independently but still working towards the team goal of completing the requested analyses in a timely fashion. Problem-solving skills will be utilized to innovate and improve existing processes, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the laboratory.
