We're here to support your goals, inspire your journey, and celebrate your wins.Job SummaryPerforms product quality control functions during inbound and outbound shipping; monitors warehouse conditions; inspects product to ensure quality control standards are met.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms inspections to measure product quality in order to ensure product received and shipped from warehouses meets Company and regulatory requirements. Rejects unsafe and poor-quality product as needed.Checks vaults on a daily basis to assess and maintain product quality and temperature.Performs inspections for weight and temperature along with overall specifications according to BGC and regulatory guidelines. Records and reports findings to management.Communicates product issues to category management partners in order to keep them informed on quality of products.Looks for quality improvement opportunities and provides recommendations to management.Ensures product temperature levels are closely monitored for high-risk and high-priority items. Retrieves temperature recording devices and maintains accurate data logs.Checks Universal Product Codes (UPC), Price Look-Up (PLU) codes, country of origin labeling, and expiration dates.Applies knowledge of quality assurance techniques and processes to assist with product disposition.Performs and monitors the produce ripening process as needed.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesIntermediate knowledge of produce.Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.Basic mathematical skills.Ability to learn regulations and guidelines pertaining to product quality control.Ability to comprehend and interpret information.Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.Ability to use knives/box cutters and other measurement tools.Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.Education, Experience and QualificationsHigh school Diploma or GED required.Minimum of 18 years of age required.Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.One or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.Physical DemandsContinuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus.Frequently required to talk and hear.Frequently required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling.Frequently required to stand or walk for long periods of time.Frequently required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 50 lbs.Occasionally required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing).Occasionally required to sit.Occasionally required to bend, kneel or squat.Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop or crawl.Attendance at work is required.Work Context and EnvironmentWork is generally performed in a warehouse setting.Continuously exposed to extreme cold conditions (non-weather).Occasionally exposed to wet, slippery or damp conditions.Occasionally exposed to industrial odors, fumes and dust.Moderate to loud noise level.Ready to find your place?
