Desktop Support Specialist

Job Summary:

The NCDOT Specialist - Expert is a Desktop Support Specialist role based onsite at Century Center, Raleigh NC, supporting Service Desk and customer requests across Raleigh, Garner, and statewide areas. This position involves providing advanced technical support, managing IT incidents and problems, mentoring team members, and leading projects to ensure organizational success and client satisfaction. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 7 years of experience supporting computer hardware, software, peripherals, and networking protocols.
• Proficient in installing, imaging, and configuring computers and software.
• Experience installing and configuring network printers and peripherals.
• Skilled in migrating user data and profiles.
• Strong documentation skills for technical processes and procedures.
• Working knowledge of ServiceNow call tracking system.
• Ability to travel as required for the role.
• Understanding and implementation of IT security policies and standards.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Project management experience with leadership and team coordination skills.
• Experience working with Data Center Operations and account management systems (AD, NCID, CITRIX).
• Familiarity with application development and network infrastructure troubleshooting.

Special Considerations:

• Work must be performed onsite at Century Center, Raleigh NC, with travel to Garner and other statewide locations as needed.
• Absences longer than two weeks require prior approval and must provide reachable contact information.
• Compliance with IT security policies and protection of sensitive data is mandatory.
• Must agree to terms regarding payment, overtime laws, and interview attendance.

Scheduling:

• Standard daytime work schedule based onsite, with possible travel during regular business hours.
• Availability for the full duration of the assignment from 08/17/2026 to 08/15/2027.
