The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, and the Cardiovascular Institute at UC San Diego are committed to academic excellence among the faculty, staff, and student body and are actively recruiting for academic general cardiovascular medicine positions. Selected candidates will be responsible for providing clinical care to patients and for training and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Selected candidates may also have opportunities to conduct clinical trials. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. Series Available HS Clinical Professor (APM 278) Clinical X Professor (APM 275) In-Residence Professor (APM 270) Adjunct Professor (APM 280) Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree and be board certified or board eligible in Cardiovascular Diseases or a related field.
