Radiology Intern

Job Overview The Intern Radiology Tech has the unique opportunity to be hired while enrolled in an accredited Radiology or Sonography program. As an Intern Radiology Tech, the candidate will focus on patient safety and operate within the legal scope of practice, as well as federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and institutional policies. Responsibilities include transporting patients to and from the department and completing all necessary documentation. The intern may position and prepare equipment for imaging exams depending on their level of training. Exposure to ionizing radiation is not permitted until graduation from the Radiology Program and obtaining an MRT license. Shift and Schedule Details regarding shift times and schedule will be provided upon interview. Essential Functions / Performance Expectations Transport patients to and from the department. Assist others in completing patient imaging examinations. Complete appropriate documentation for the patient’s imaging examination or transportation. May position and prepare imaging equipment, depending on the intern’s level of training. Education and Experience High school graduate. Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiology or Sonography program. Physical Requirements To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak, and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and 50 lbs. for non‑clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted‑lift if necessary.
