GPS - Financial Accounting Advisory Services - Senior Manager

Senior Manager, Government & Public Sector – Financial Accounting Advisory Services (GPS-FAAS) Located in the U.S., this role focuses on building strong relationships across the Federal, State, Local, and Education sectors, guiding complex accounting and audit engagements. The successful candidate will communicate strategic goals, challenge practices, and foster innovation to deliver exceptional client experiences. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and build relationships with clients across multiple service lines. Lead and manage field work, maintain engagement status reports, and oversee performance of assurance staff. Provide coaching and development for staff, including performance feedback, training, and reviews. Apply advanced accounting and auditing concepts to client situations and challenge existing practices to create innovative solutions. Utilize technology to enhance service delivery and share knowledge across teams. Identify opportunities for clients to leverage additional EY services and contribute to team initiatives. Maintain regular client communication throughout the year and promote a culture of teamwork. Travel & Location Travel is anticipated, with an expectation of up to approximately 30% travel for federal projects or up to 80% for state, local, and education projects based on client and project needs. Qualifications U.S. CPA license. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with approximately 8 years of related experience, or a graduate degree with approximately 7 years of related experience. Excellent project management skills and strong written and verbal communication. Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, leadership, and integrity. Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher. Preferred CGFM and/or CDFM certifications. Benefits & Compensation Competitive base salary ranging from $146,700 to $335,100 nationwide, with higher ranges for major metros.
