Under the supervision of the department head and/or supervisor, the cook provides personal care and professional excellence by preparing, seasoning and cooking food for hospital patients, employees and visitors.Job Duties:Prepares and serves food for midnight cafeteria meal servicePrepares breakfast for cafeteria and patient breakfast tray lineServes breakfast on the patient tray linePrepares desserts for cafeteria and patientsDetermines stocking needs for patient floor suppliesProperly reviews menus to determine type and quantities of meats, vegetables, starches, and desserts to be prepared.Plans proper cooking schedule in conjunction with supervisor to ensure that food will be ready at specified times. Confers with supervisor regarding modified diet preparation and use of left overs.Properly washes, trims, cooks and seasoning of food items for each meal.Properly observes and practices sanitary and safe infection control standardsAbility to work with minimal supervisionOther duties as assignedShift Details:8 hours/ week, 16 hours per pay periodShift: Every other weekend, 12:00am - 8:30 amMinimum Requirements:Prior cooking experience required.Previous hospital and institutional cooking experienceKnowledge of therapeutic (modified) dietsServsafe preferred or willing to become certifiedBenefits Summary:Join our team, and you’ll have access to a cutting-edge facility with state of the art technology.
