About the Opportunity
\nWe are partnering with a private equity-backed company that is building its finance organization following a recent acquisition and is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced accounting leader who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and driving operational excellence in a high-growth environment.

\nReporting directly to executive leadership and working closely with private equity sponsors, this individual will establish best-in-class accounting practices, oversee the transition to GAAP reporting, and build the accounting team as the business continues to grow through both organic expansion and acquisitions.
\n
\n Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 base
\n Please note this salary range is an estimate. Actual compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, and overall fit.

\n Primary Responsibilities \n

\n\t
• Build and lead the accounting function, establishing scalable processes, internal controls, and financial reporting procedures. \n\t
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. \n\t
• Lead the organization's transition from cash basis accounting to full GAAP compliance. \n\t
• Prepare financial reports and analyses for executive leadership, investors, lenders, and board presentations. \n\t
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, financial planning, and operational decision-making. \n\t
• Evaluate existing accounting systems and help lead the implementation of a new ERP platform to support future growth. \n\t
• Support acquisition activity, including purchase accounting, financial integration, and post-close process improvements. \n\t
• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other business partners to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy. \n\t
• Assess future staffing needs and recruit, develop, and mentor the accounting team as the organization expands. \n\t
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting operations, reporting, and financial processes. \n

\n Candidate Qualifications \n\n

\n\t
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. \n\t
• CPA strongly preferred (active or inactive license acceptable). \n\t
• Public accounting foundation, followed by progressive industry accounting leadership. \n\t
• Proven Controller experience with strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close. \n\t
• Experience building, improving, or transforming accounting processes in a growing organization. \n\t
• Ability to thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment while balancing strategic leadership with day-to-day execution. \n\t
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across executive leadership and operational teams. \n\t
• Experience supporting private equity-backed organizations, acquisitions, ERP implementations, or accounting system upgrades is highly desirable. \n\t
• Background within asset-intensive, service-based, rental, or project-driven organizations is a plus. \n
