Surgical Technician I

Location: Fountain Valley

Status: Full Time

Shift: Evenings 12 hrs (1100 - 2300)

Pay Range: $32.19/hr. - $46.68hr.

Bonus: $3,000.00 signing bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements

Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Medical Center. The employee shall support Orange Coast Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1. Individual and unit preparation for Magnet. 2. Meets population specific competencies. 3. Provides patient care to the patient undergoing surgical procedures under the direction of an RN/Physician. 4. Applies the principle of asepsis in a knowledgeable manner to provide quality patient care. 5. Possesses knowledge skills in all surgical procedures and demonstrates ability to safely and completely use equipment supplies in the performance of assignment. 6. Demonstrates continual development of clinical expertise and current knowledge of healthcare trends and education related to practice. 7. Possesses knowledge and skills of job specific competencies in the operating room. 8. Other duties as assigned.
