Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Birmingham, Alabama area, with assignments starting August 7 and running through June 10. You’ll provide critical speech and language services in a dynamic educational environment, collaborating with school teams to make a meaningful impact on children’s learning and development. Assignment locations and caseloads will be matched to district needs, giving you the chance to lend your expertise where it’s needed most.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution (required)
- Valid Professional Educator Certification (required)
- Comprehensive understanding of laws, rules, and regulations regarding the education and services for children with disabilities
- Familiarity with pediatric/adolescent cognitive and physical development, and the use of diagnostic tools for student assessment
- Ability to compile, interpret, and communicate data regarding student progress, and navigate relevant educational policies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure (preferred)
Primary Duties:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to students as assigned
- Evaluate, document, and report on student progress, adapting goals as necessary
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement IEP goals
- Remain current on best practices, legal requirements, and emerging research in the field
